Janine Greenberg is presenting her work with examples from over the ages at the Trackside Gallery in Acton on 26 November 2006 in an exhibition entitled
Beneath What We See
Part of the proceeds from sales of work will be donated to the Eve Appeal Charity. The Eve Appeal Charity supports ovarian cancer research.
The Exhibition will run until the 9th of December and will include examples of her jewellery along with paintings.
Janine is an accomplished UK artist and jewellery designer. She is particularly involved in enamelling work. Her most recent works have included:
2006 Fish collection. Inspired by Janine’s love of the sea. The pieces of jewellery use different techniques and mediums. Chasing, enamel work, beautiful stones and pearls create this unique collection.
2004-2005 In the Eyes of an Angel. In this collection Janine has expressed her spiritual beliefs using the reflective and transparent qualities of enamel.
Janine has these past years won high acclaim for her outstanding work. She received the Award For Encouragement for her angel brooch PURPOSE in the 19th International Cloisonné Contest, organised by the Japan Shippo Conference. In February 2006 she received a commended award in the Chasers Craft Section of the Craftsmanship & Design Awards for her enamelled fish necklace. She has also previously won prizes in the Goldsmith’s Design Awards and during her studies at University.
Variety is a central theme to Janine’s work. Like a variety of influences, she also uses a vast array of colours and materials to express herself. Enamels, different fabrics for colour and texture and beads either of glass, crystal or plastic create her beautiful work. At times Janine has seen fit to work with one colour and medium (especially early work “blue period”), and at other times colourful flamboyance has been her inspiration.
